In the 2010s, ACCIONA Energía promoted pioneering initiatives for integrating battery storage with photovoltaic solar and wind energy. Today, it is recognized as an industry leader in the adoption and effective operation of these models, with large-scale plants both operational and under development in high- potential markets.

Since 2023 the company has operated what was the largest battery project in Texas (USA) - the 190 MW Cunningham plant, acquired in 2022 along with a portfolio of more than 1 GW of storage capacity in the country.
